Conceptual project considering vertical farming for tight urban spaces.
Cinder blocks cast with an extended pocket for growing on the side of new construction.
Grow Bricks is side exploration from a group project on local, small scale/residential, urban growing. These bricks are designed for large scale, premeditated growing. The idea was abandoned due to a decline of cinder blocks use in new construction in cities like Philadelphia. This design could be applicable and refined for use in other communities and countries.
