The jungle where all Rhino animals live
Permalink Reply by Bill Millmine on August 18, 2011 at 6:40pm What I do to save my screenshots is, press ctrl and print screen then open Microsoft paint and press ctrl and v. This pastes the temporary screenshot to a program of my choice. You can use any other program but it needs to be pasted into a program so that you may select the type of image you want to save it as. I prefer jpegs.
Try a different program if its not working for you. Your temporary folder or clipboard may be full too.
You probably already do this Rick but I wanted to try to help out. I only have a years experience working with Rhino.

Hi Dan
Thanks for the reply. It's funny, I have had no problem in the past with sceen shots. all of a sudden I get black screen. In answer to your question, I just want the one viewport shot. Again thanks for the reply.
Rick
Only ONE good answer to this. It ALWAYS works, gives stunnig results, and costs ZERO $ !
1. Download and install IRFANVIEW. Its Free. Download and install the IRFANVIEW Plugin package - the full package in one exe. Its FREE. Do the IRFANVIEW first, and then the plugins. Your install will run flawlessly.
2. Use SIMPLE "PRINTSCREEN" key to capture your entire screen. It doesn't matter. Don't fool with CTRL-Prtscreen unless you want to.
3. PAste the captured result into IRFANVIEW . NOT PAINT. I don't have room here for why. Paint is ok, but you'll see why if you go with IRFANVIEW.
4. Crop the image. Save the file to disk for later use...
5. While STILL in IRFANVIEW use COPY to lift the cropped image to the Clipboard and finally,
6. Paste into your target page maker. I use MS-WORD.
This sequence of steps is SIMPLE , its FREE and has served me well for years. RHINO with your screen antialiasing set to 2 or 4 , and your results capturing thescreen image in this manner will give STUNNING results ! Results will be FAR superior to Rhino's native save-image command.
BTW- I also use my IRFANVIEW as my Image viewer/manager because it is SO fast and reliable !
Good luck, and post back here with results !
C.
Thanks Charles
Worked like a charm. Your right, the quality is better with IRFANVIEW.
Thanks again,
Rick Connery
