Blend surfaces with varying blend

I would like to create a varying distance blend where the car body meets the creased detail.

I did do it by creating trimming  curves at the intersection, and point editing the curves to create a gap for trimming. I was wondering if there was a way to pipe from zero at either end with a larger radius in the middle to trim with.

Could you also explian how to copy the curve rail from the end shown, to the middle and the other end.

Any help would be appreciated

To create a variable radius pipe with zero radius at either end:

1) Create the center curve of the pipe.

2) Create circles perpendicular to the center curve using Circle command with AroundCurve option.

3) Create points at the ends of the curve or any other locations zero radius is desired.

4) Use Sweep1 to create the variable radius "pipe".
