I need to know if there is easy way to calculate the volume of an irregular and open mesh object. In my case I have a quarry obtained from a terrain mesh, the perimeter is no planar and irregular. It could be usefull also know a way to create a cap like a NURBS patch surface to obtain a solid.

Hello- you can try FIllMeshHole and click on the edge of the mesh- the result may be messy, or OK, depending on the shape. You can also use patchSingleFace to make bridges between opposite sides of the hole and thereby control the size and locations of the holes to try to fill with FillMeshHole.
Not so easy metod if the border of the mesh is very complex and irregular.
Yep it can be tedious. You can try MeshPatch as well to make a mesh that closes the open side.
