Export STL for 3d printing

Could someone please tell me what mesh settings they are using when saving a file as a .stl for rapid prototyping? How do I make sure that the model is water-tight?

Check you nurbs model for naked edges and correct geometry Then convert to a mesh using the Advanced settings above, Then export the mesh as a .stl It pays to check the stl in rhino5 beta mesh repair wizard or you can download the mesh repair tool kit from rhinolabs for rhino 4.
Hope this works for you I use these setting for solid scape.

to check for water tight model use the edge command tools in rhino or find naked edges you can fix them with the join 2 naked edges command.

but you can also just use the mesh repair wizard to do this when its a .stl but I just do it as I build.

I use match edge to join naken edges if they're far apart. Do you think this can give cleaner results? I also received a 3dm file today from a factory in Asia. They made a mold from it but the edges aren't even close. I even tried maxing the join tolerance, but no luck. Any idea how they make it water tight?

TBH I dont even go to stl anymore...we just mesh the nurbs mostly the same as above settings and go directly to .slc for the solidscape...I dont boolean much any more either as long as they are all grouped solids...its a sweet and clean file in .slc...who need to work that hard unless you have a good reason.
