The jungle where all Rhino animals live
It depends which programs you first made the 2d in. Some programs are completely compatible but otherwise if you are moving between programs which aren't you will always come across some hiccups.
If you want to work with archicad the best advice I can give you is to use cinema 4d and archicad together as they are completely compatible next to that use Rhino which is what I use with Archicad,
I hope this helped!
P.S
But I don't understand what program do you use for 2d, why don't you simply use archicad to 2d in?
Thank you very much for the tip, will try to get the Cinema4D ...and learn to to use
greetings.
I use ArchiCAD to model. is a virtual building program which works directly in 3D, but2D automatically generates both plants and sections and elevations. Specifically forarchitects. However, it has the limitation that you can not make organic forms, so Rhinocould complement it.
Ah ok, well in that case, if you really want to use archicad for the default elevations and sections, with the ability to create organic forms cinema 4d will do that the way archicad was made to do it,
But you can still get plans and sections from rhino too, their 'cut plane' command followed by 'make 2d' will get you plans and sections.
We will be releasing a tutorial on this soon!

Sorry, I missed this discussion. Another option for you to try is IFC (ssiRhinoIFC is a plugin I've developed).
I haven't tested Archicad r15 yet, but certainly the import of r14 can be improved.
For the time being, nurbs surfaces need to be meshed to exchange, although you can control the meshing tolerance for smoothness appearance. A good place to start reading on this is here:
http://geometrygym.blogspot.com/2010/11/grasshopper-generating-ifc-...
If it's a linear extrusion then you'll be fine,
I have up and running nurbs surface exporting (which is included in IFC2x4 due for release this year) but you'll have to seek from Archicad when they expect to read this (which might be a year or more).
I'm happy to help with any advise or improvements that might help.
Cheers,
Jon
Hi Pablo,
Installation instructions can be found here: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/geometrygym
I recommend you also install StructDrawRhino.
There is a free evaluation period of a month. I do work full time on the development of these tools, so I do rely on licensing their use for commercial work to sustain this. Licensing options can be discussed once you have started testing. I am happy to help advise you with getting started.
