The jungle where all Rhino animals live
Hi,
Anyone know how I stop the V-ray toolbars appearing when I start Rhino. They always position themselves in screwy places and mess up all the other toolbars. I mostly use Maxwell so don't need them out but dont want to unload the plugin completely.
Thanks
jonathan
Permalink Reply by John Brock on October 27, 2012 at 2:07pm You didn't supply any details, but based on the symptom aline, Im guessing this is Rhino V4 running in Windows Vista or Windows 7 with User Account Control turned on. If I've guessed wrong, then ignore this and reply with some details.
If I'm right, then the fix is to start Rhino with elevated rights to override UAC getting in the way. Right-mouse click on the Rhino V4 Desktop shortcut and choose Run as Administrator. Allow the elevation and when Rhino starts, arrange your toolbars where you want them. Close Rhino and wait for a few seconds so Windows has a chance to write the changes back to the Program Files(x86) folders. Then start Rhino normally.
This is typical behavior of 'legacy' applications designed for Windows XP running in newer operating systems with UAC.

Thanks John for resolving it :)
Your suggestion works perfectly on R5 / VRay 1.5 (Win 7 x64) also...
