Industrial Design Position- Budd Lake NJ

Job Description:
Sportcraft Ltd. is looking for an experienced Industrial Designer / Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Director of Creative Services. The Industrial Designer / Mechanical Engineer is accountable to that executive for the performance of his/her duties. His/her primary objective will be to design, develop, test, new product design and evaluate current products, and manage the industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Able to meet all deadlines and consistently achieve quick turnarounds in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Works well in a team environment.

Creates aspects of form, aesthetics, and physical interfaces between products and end users. Supports sourcing of materials, construction, mechanisms, shape, color, surface finish, and manufacturing processes in cooperation with other business functions involved in new product development process. Generates documentation necessary to convey design concept and/or solution to management during development process through renderings, models, mechanical drawings and written reports. Helps maintain quality standards throughout product development process while improving aesthetics (the "look and feel") of products.

• Improve aesthetics and usability of products
• Product Rendering
• Function Specifications
• Production Process evaluation
• Production Load evaluation
• Product Development finalization
• Testing and Quality Assurance evaluation and finalization

Requirements:
• Knowledge of product design required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
• Demonstrated project and time management skills
• Knowledge of graphic design software
• Demonstrated strategic-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, creative and product development) on assignments.
• Team with art director and designers on all assignments

Experience and Skills:
• BS degree in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years experience is required.
• The candidate must have good sketching and illustrative skills and the ability to conceptualize three-dimensional geometry.
• Required computer skills include Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Ability to clearly present concepts to creative team to ensure marketing objectives are being met
• Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
• Must be well organized and detail oriented
• Must be able to travel
