The jungle where all Rhino animals live

Hi all!

I made a model of 17 books, I mapped 17 different book covers on them and it was almost perfect. But after closing and reopening all of them lost their texture coordinates. Is there any way how to stick them together forever?
Thanks!

Im not sure if I understand your question, did your textures disappear completely or was the orientation of the texture relative to the object moved. I know that its best to keep your textures in the same folder as the rhino file just to keep everything together but if you move the image file to a different location from the original in which you placed the textures you have to reassign the image maps. Can you upload a screen capture?

Hi! Thanks for helping! The whole problem is, that I had a model of a book - I made a texture in Photoshop, I created material in Vray, I mapped it in Rhino : mapping setted as Box mapping, I setted dimensions, so the texture was exactly at the place where I needed that. After closing and reopening Rhino -Textures were still in the same folder - Mapping of the books was setted to Default (not Box mapping) and dimensions were lost as well... and it happened with all of the 17 books in the scene.
Thanks!

It may be a V-ray issue. Since I dont have V-ray I cant offer any ideas. Have you checked with the Rhino newsgroup?

I have had same problem (using R5).
Seems to be a bug, happens occasionally for me on reopening, but almost 100% of time if copy and paste to new instance of rhino.
Only solution i found was to go back into properties for each each 'bad' texture and reapplying the type of texture mapping (hit "Apply Box Mapping").
17x is painful but much better than starting again.

well, I've done it in that way - but all of those textures were not in default position - so I had to do "Apply box mapping" and then to re-position all of them once more. And after another reopening - the very same problem. :(
