RhinoJungle

The jungle where all Rhino animals live

Hi all,

Recently I try to use maxwell render for rendering my scene.
I must say that this is the best renderer I have ever tried. Very simple setup with super-outstanding result.

Regarding from my recent pc -which is improper for this tasking- , I'd like to add these issues:

1. Why is maxwell requires very long time for just rendering a scene (if you look at my below scene, it has taken dead 7 hours of rendering) - and I still didn't get the clear image-? The SL is by default 25.00 ; but the benchmark is still very low.

2. I have figured that in maxwell, the render works as "light cache" in v ray. Is it works like that?

3. What is the proper required specification for processor (and vga) to do this rendering tasks with maxwell?

4. Is there any tips for accelerating the render speed in maxwell?

Thanks.... :D

and tank again very mach for your comment . im from iran and in iran V-ray is prevalent but ...i dont like to use only one render engin...v-ray is good ...but maxwell is my dream...:)
Hi Hamed - Patro,

In their (maxwell) previous version, there was a "chalenge" called benchwell, which I thought was a competition to determine the workstation's ability to handle maxwell.

What is actually "benchmark" means? And what is exactly the range of that numbers (or is it unlimited?)

Thanks in advance
http://www.benchwell.com/
it wasn't a challenge... it was a useful page, the test scene can be always downloaded.
it is a system, memory, processor comparison page...
"Benchwell.com is a place for users of Next Limit Technologies' Maxwell Render™ to compare hardware performance and give buyers an idea on what to invest in.

Due to the near linear scaling of Maxwell Render, the benchmark gives an excellent overview of the raw power of current processor generations and their suitability for CGI related work.

This website is a personal project, but in frequent exchange with the Maxwell Render community and Next Limit Technologies."

This might sound silly, but Is the number (benchmark) correlated with the result? Or is it only for hardware performance index? :|
the benchmark value is the only important...
it is a reference given from the connection of all other values...
if you run a render with maxwell you get also displayed your benchmark... if you want you can compare it with one similar in the list.
you can download maxwell 1.7 from some where... version 2 and 1.7 can be installed on the same system.
download the scene and open with maxwell studio and try to compare
very well thx for this information . perfect discussion
