The jungle where all Rhino animals live
It seems that making a section, creates only a 2d drawing on the x,y plane.
How did you then created this rendered section:

?
Thank you for the reply.

I used the new section command that is available in the 1.4 version.
So far you can split the model using a plane and then hiding the part of the model you don't want to show. But you need to explode the VisualARQ geometry first, and you lose the parametric object properties. Creating a copy of the model to work on for the section render is an option so btw.
cheers,

But I did not understood you quite.
You are advising me to:
"split the model using a plane and then hiding the part of the model you don't want to show."
But in the version 1.4 of VisualARQ this is not necessary and I can get the rendered section directly by using the Section VisualARQ tool?
Permalink Reply by Francesc Salla on July 11, 2011 at 4:52am Hi Stanko,
That's it. In the 1.4 version you won't need to do this work around to create a render section view. This new feature has been tested with VRay and worked fine. Other render engines need to be tested still though.
Permalink Reply by Stanko Tisljar on July 11, 2011 at 7:37am Understood.
And I am using VRay, by the way, as it gives the best results for me, at least in this moment.
Is there any kind of discount at buying VisualARQ for students?
Permalink Reply by Francesc Salla on July 11, 2011 at 7:47am Yes,
the educational license is cheaper than the comercial license. You can check the prices here.
cheers,
Permalink Reply by Stanko Tisljar on July 11, 2011 at 9:30am thank you for reply once again.
On more thing: how can I make difference between the regular 2d section and rendered section at VisualARQ? In order words, what do I need to type in, or click on to choose one of these modes?
Permalink Reply by Francesc Salla on July 12, 2011 at 12:22am In the 1.4 version, when you create a section cutting line, you have the option to create a 2D drawings from that section line, or see the 3D model sectioned in real time. This option is available selecting the section line > context menu (right click on the line) > section mark.
In that moment you are able to work from the sectioned model or shot a render.
1.4 version will be released soon.
Permalink Reply by Stanko Tisljar on July 12, 2011 at 12:35am So I already create the section, and then when the section is created I need to open context menu (right click on the section line) and -> section mark.
Right?
Permalink Reply by Francesc Salla on July 12, 2011 at 12:47am Hi Stanko,
Yes, that's the way you will do it. But that option won't be available until the version 1.4 and you may be using the 1.3 now. I will let you know when the version 1.4 is finally ready to download.
cheers,
