About LEDAS Rhino Assembly

LEDAS Rhino Assembly is a plug-in for assembly design and kinematic simulation in Rhino. It is a part of LEDAS Driving Dimensions product line. Its geometric constraints and driving dimensions features are similar to ones found only in mainstream MCAD software packages.
With Rhino Assembly you can easily position your rigid 3D parts with respect to each other by specifying assembly constraints (fixation, concentricity, coincidence, parallelism, perpendicularity, tangency, rigid sets) and driving dimensions (distance and angle) between their faces and edges. Driving Dimensions plug-in automatically satisfies all constraints and dimensions making a consistent assembly from existing parts. An assembled mechanism can then be animated by varying a parameter of one or more of its driving dimensions. Assembly Manager tool allows easy navigation over all assembly constraints and driving dimensions imposed on geometric elements of a designed model.

I've enjoyed playing with this software to be sure, but one question- is there a way to use it with simple lines and points - ie to sketch out a kinematic idea before beefing out the parts?
thx

Hello Gene, This might be out of rhino's primary capabilities. I've read about Grasshopper, but have no firsthand experience; I would suggest at least checking it out to see if it can do what you're hoping to model. Your other option may be in app…

Filletedge and Chamferedge bug fixes just coming on line ? I'm assuming there's an option in the commands to string edges, and apply varying radiuses or distances as part of the command. 1. Are we REALLY just now getting to this? We're using RH-3.0…
