I'm new to MadCAM (and Rhino, for that matter). Just setting up a Laguna IQ 2'x3' CNC router, so nothing milled yet. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use MadCAM for 2.5D milling/V-Carving and for use with profiling router bits, like a roundover. I know I could use a ball mill in 3D, but very slow for making a sign or rounding over a guitar body! I did upgrade to MadCAM 4.3!

Anyone working with the 4.3 beta yet? If not, you should take a look. Contour remachining looks really good, and the multi-coloured simulation is much more useful then simulating your cut in one colour.

I just received the e-mail about the release of madCAM 4.2. It says "It's a service release with minor new features and enhancements".

Franco, you might want to take another look. The revolution technology is hardly a minor new feature.

Just wanted to drop by and tell everyone that MadCam is working out great for us. If anyone is hesitating to try the 4.2 beta, don't! It is rock solid and has features that we find are essential. All of the guys are used to WorkNC and are finding that a lot of the features in that high-end program are in Madcam now too. Not all, but it's getting there!!

I will add a pic later. I think this is a great new forum and hope it grows by leaps and bounds. Like Dan, I know that as soon as Madcam is discovered, it is going to go like "mad" pun intended! lol
