About RhinoNest

RhinoNest is a new nesting plug-in for Rhino. With this new utility you can optimize the part position and orientation for material cut in different areas, such as carpentry, furniture, sheet metal, footwear, glass cut, marine, banners, modeling... Highly effective position optimization contributes to an important material saving without reducing the ease of use. RhinoNest is totally built in Rhinoceros, this allows you to optimize in minutes without the need to export and import to another software, and it does not require object conversions, it supports all geometry types.

Just wanted to say I used this a few years ago and it saved my bacon. Not everyone needs a nesting program very often but if you do this one is great.
cheers and thanks.

You may be right. You know, I've always said that this is one thing that programs like Artcam are good at.

I'm thinking Ferrari or D9 Cat this may still be the wrong way to approach this problem. I don't much care for heightfield but it might be one of the better approaches. Gene

Yep, and it never matters what you buy. I know in my case I could buy the Ferrari and still complain that I needed more.

You may be able to mesh the texture at a fairly low setting, and use the meshed version to apply to your target. I don't know if this will be less taxing, but it may help. Sadly it comes down to horsepower. Regards, Matt Bennett BeavCo
