Try going to options/plugins. Enable the vray checkbox and try again. Had the same issue but it works now

And I was doing so well...!!

So i downloaded the materials and put them in the correct folder.

Started V5 and changed efault render to Vray and now I get error:

Command: _SetCurrentRenderPlugin
Plug-in name or ID ( Rhinoceros ): e8cfe179-b60c-411a-8416-62a893334519
Unable to load default render plug-in.
Unable to make "V-Ray for Rhino" the current render plug-in

So I removed the materials folder and I still get error.

I changed nothing. One min working, the next min its stopped working. This is what I find frustrating about Vray, it is sooo unstable.

Hi Roy

worked ok with version 5, still could not get version 4 to work!

But a small step forward. So demo is working and RT version. What is missing is all the materials and vispot defaults, is this normal for demo version?

Many thanks for your help

Thanks Roy

I will give it a go...

Ok, i found out that when installing vray demo on v5 beta you have to change the installation folder in vray promt. It will install in the programfiles/rhino wip foder as standard. Change this to the programfiles/rhino beta folder and you should be good to go

Did you install the 32 or 64 bit version of vray? I have not been using v 4 since v 5 wip was released so i dont remember if v4 is a 64 bit application. I guess if v 4 is a 32 bit app then you have to install the 32 bit v of ray as well.

How ever i am currently without vray at this machine so i will try to install it and see

no. 4.0 SR9 on Windows 64 bit machine. I have tried both 4.0 and 5.0 versions with no luck. Working with Keyshot but not great at interior lighting hence my ray interest...
