if the ring can move at all when the stone is not in place then its not hard enough.
pay attention the the seat that holds the stone it must be an exact fit with the facets on the stone.
glue is not a solution for a loose fit with the stone.
I understand titanium is a very hard metal so with some cleaver bending/subtle hammering you may be able to get enough tension in the ring for it to work.
or if not you may have to have another go.

eg with 18ct golds I will cold forge or hammer the metal up at least 6-8 finger sizes to create enough tension to hold a similar size stone.your ring is quite fine . so in curious to how you figured it all out.
