BIOGRAPHY:
Born in 1983 in New York and grew up in the furniture industry. In 2005, received a B.F.A. in Industrial Design (Magna Cum Laude) from The University of Michigan. Currently living and breathing furniture design in North Carolina. Travelling the globe in search of the best materials and manufacturing processes, all with a conscious effort to minimize my carbon footprint. You may be right. You know, I've always said that this is one thing that programs like Artcam are good at.
I'm thinking Ferrari or D9 Cat this may still be the wrong way to approach this problem. I don't much care for heightfield but it might be one of the better approaches.

Yep, and it never matters what you buy. I know in my case I could buy the Ferrari and still complain that I needed more.
Yeah, and I'm driving the economy model....I'll see if I can get up to speed with meshes.

You may be able to mesh the texture at a fairly low setting, and use the meshed version to apply to your target. I don't know if this will be less taxing, but it may help.
Sadly it comes down to horsepower.

I've only been working with Rhino for about a year. But I've found that ArrayCrvOnSrf works relatively well. A cool plugin is ArrayCrvPlus. So is Armadillo.
