Happy Birthday Yaing!
We haven't seen you around in a while but still wanted to wish you a SUPER bday. If you get the chance, we'd love to know how we can make this community more appealing to Rhino users like you?
Hi Yaing, nice to meet you too, I´m sorry to answer this late, but its been a while since i don´t visit this page. Right now I´m working with Toys, modeled with Rhino, but still make some jewels. So here are some pages you can visit to learn tricks to model.
We are gradually adding to this channel 40 tutorials from the Rhinojewel Academy program of 101 Video Tutorials which will be made pubblic in early 2010.
Hi Yaing,
I apologize with you to have answered you only now, but in this period I have been badly and I have not followed the social network.
I don't believe I have ever said it, but I am not a jewels modeler.
however you can give a look to this link http://vimeo.com/user1383462/videos.
Regards Luca.

Sorry this may look out of topic but If is horsepower that we are talking about I wish Rhino could one day be Cuda compatible as it's getting really interesting to see how a common GPU can handle realtime render and not even that, even the slowest o…
Thanks, I was sure that I could find a right answer to my question, there is so much to learn and practice and so little time...the coding tool is very interesting indeed as for the Armadillo plugin (not far from the ArrayCrvPlus but I think it has…
I'm thinking Ferrari or D9 Cat this may still be the wrong way to approach this problem. I don't much care for heightfield but it might be one of the better approaches.

You may be able to mesh the texture at a fairly low setting, and use the meshed version to apply to your target. I don't know if this will be less taxing, but it may help.
Sadly it comes down to horsepower.

Hi Gene and thank you so much for your kind reply and links, I'm in fact very interested to move into some Script design myself, the ArrayCrvPlus looks indeed very interesting and I was already considering 'Paving' extracting Isocurves from the surf…
Hi Marco,
I've only been working with Rhino for about a year. But I've found that ArrayCrvOnSrf works relatively well. A cool plugin is ArrayCrvPlus. So is Armadillo.
